Visiting Berlin felt like I was moving back home!
I had lived in Germany for 3 years and never made it Berlin. Shame on me! So after we moved to England I made sure to put time aside to make a trip. I talked about Berlin a little before as one of my favorite selfie trips but it really deserves it’s own post.
First off the city is amazing! It’s clean, it’s beautiful and it’s very open. It also helped that the weather was perfect the entire time I was there 😛 Lucky me!
Secondly there is so much history here! The walking tour wasn’t my favorite BUT it was nice being guided to all of the spots anyway.
World War II Memorial
So apparently the soviets funded a bunch of the rebuilding of Berlin after World War II (?) and they conveniently built themselves one of the biggest memorials I’ve ever seen. it was amazing though!
Finally, my favorite part of any city, the street art!
I also got very lucky while I was in Berlin because the Festival of Lights was going on, which I knew nothing about until after I got there and saw some signs for it. Groups of people get together and design a light show to project onto some of the monuments around the city. In between shows they would project a still image, which was impressive enough for me but the shows themselves were incredible. Getting the light programed to move around the curves of all the buildings they way they did was insane!
